Embossing

Here at Brydian Bureau Services we can emboss plastic cards in order to add personalisation with varible data including:

          • Names
          • Account numbers
          • Expiry Dates

The embossing is then tipped using a coloured foil using the most common colours of black, silver and gold.

There are two types of embossing:

  • (1) OCR – the larger size (5mm) and is used for embossing numbers only, up to a maximum of 19 characters across.
  • (2) Simplex – 3mm in height and is used for both lettering and numbering to a maximum of 27 characters across.

Card holder names, addresses, account details, barcodes and photographs can be placed onto plastic cards.

Thermal Printing

This is a method by which flat lettering and numbering can be applied to the face and / or reverse of the card. Thermal transfer is used to personalise the cards with variable data, and can also be used to apply bar codes. It is normally applied in black, but other colours can be supplied at a premium. Thermal transfer can be applied in standard Microsoft fonts to a variety of point sizes. The number of characters across varies according to the point size and fonts selected.
